Towel, Soap Drive benefits less fortunate

The NAS Patuxent River Chaplain’s Office recently held a soap and towel drive to benefit The Mission, a local faith-based nonprofit dedicated to helping the local working poor, the homeless, and individuals with drug or alcohol addictions. When the drive ended, Marines from Air Test and Evaluation (VX) 23 helped pack and deliver a van full of towels and toiletry items. The Mission, located on Great Mills Road in Lexington Park, will distribute the supplies to the less fortunate as well as provide them in their building’s shower facility, which is open and free to those in need.
