Willie named 2020 USNTPS Sailor of the Year

Lt. Col. Rory Feely, commanding officer of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School (USNTPS), is pleased to announce that AM1 Louis R. Willie II has been named the USNTPS Sailor of the Year for 2020.

Willie, the USNTPS Aviation Program Team’s quality assurance supervisor, led his team of 11 Sailors in conducting 1,665 monitoring activities and executing 73 program audits that contributed to the safe completion of 3,074 sorties that encompassed 4,453 flight hours across 49 aircraft supporting 98 multi-service test pilots, Naval Flight Officers, and flight test engineers under instruction.

Feely awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, gold star in lieu of seventh award, to Willie for his exceptional professionalism, perseverance, and dedication to duty. Congratulations, AM1 Willie!
