Graduates of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School’s (USNTPS) first UAS Advanced Topics Course, June 11-14, stand with their instructor and the USNTPS commanding officer. The course was developed to provide graduates of USNTPS’s long course, slated for UAS test billets, a specific skill set to better prepare them for their respective test tours by expanding upon the knowledge gained during the long course. It included two days of academics covering topics ranging from UAS human factors to guidance, navigation, and control, and two days of qualitative evaluations on four different UAS platforms local to NAS Patuxent River and Naval Outlying Field Webster. Future offerings of the UAS Advanced Course will be conducted every six months for each graduating class.
