As you may be aware, the Department of Defense has just updated their population schema to add beneficiaries age 75 or older to the current tier of individuals eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Naval Health Clinic Patuxent River (NHCPR) is currently in Phase 1B.
NHCPR has developed a process to contact beneficiaries to set up appointments. These appointments will be prioritized amongst enrolled beneficiaries based on those who are the most vulnerable to COVID-19.
If you are enrolled at the Military Treatment Facility (MTF), you will be contacted to set up an appointment time. Please do not come to the MTF for a COVID vaccine until your appointment, as doing so will only bring more people together than needed.
If you prefer, and are able to do so, you can also get a vaccine out in town per your local and state distribution schedule. If you do so, please let your primary care manager know the details of your vaccination:
- When did you get the first dose
- At what location
- Which vaccine did you receive
- When is your appointment for your second dose
If you choose to go out in town, the clinic will need to know the lot number, manufacturer and expiration date of the vaccine received.
This policy is expected to be updated once this tier has been given the opportunity to receive the vaccine. When this policy is updated, you will be contacted via Facebook at www.facebook.com/NHCPaxRiver and Secure Messaging.
