Over 1,900 10-pound boxes of chicken were given away in 50 minutes at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Friday.

A total of 16 pallets of frozen meat was made available to service members, Pentagon staff workers, and Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall civilians outside of the USO’s Honor Guard Lounge at the Fort Myer Community Center. A steady line of Soldiers from the joint base collected the allotted two-box minimum of chicken as USO employees unloaded and distributed the packed poultry.

According to USO staffers, free chicken distribution took place at other Military District of Washington military installations this week and last week.
