Active duty and civilian military personnel are invited to attend this year’s Women In Defense National Conference, Thursday, June 13, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA. Army Secretary Mark Esper is a keynote speaker and will discuss his initiatives for revamping the Army’s personnel system, including a move to a market-based model that would make the most of soldiers’ skills and preparing them for the modern equipment coming to the service. He’ll also talk about the excellence women have brought the Army, how the service has benefited from their skills and dedication and what women can expect from the Army of the future. Also that day are an industry expo, panel discussions on industrial security and working in a mutigenerational environment, professional development workshops, and multiple networking opportunities, culminating with a late-afternoon reception.
