Welcome to Naval Branch Health Clinic, Indian Head, Maryland.The clinic provides routine and acute healthcare with limited ancillary support, to include pharmacy, laboratory, and radiology. We also provide occupational health, behavioral health and Active Duty dental care.

Our Mission:

We will be an innovative leader in healthcare while ensuring optimal warrior readiness and family wellness. We provide healthcare services, ensuring Readiness and Operational Support through health promotion and evidence-based patient-centered care.

We have a staff of one family practice physician and one physician assistant, supported by one clinic nurse manager, 17 hospital corpsman and one TRICARE/Health Benefits Advisor. We also have a psychologist on staff. Our dental clinic offers general dentistry to Active Duty with one dental officer and two technicians. The occupational health clinic staff includes one occupational physician, supported by one registered nurse and two occupational health technicians

The clinic goal is to provide quality care and outstanding customer service to enrolled Active Duty and family member TRICARE Prime beneficiaries, retired TRICARE Prime beneficiaries and eligible civilian employees of Naval Support Facility Indian Head.

After-Hours Care:

Contact the TRICARE Nurse Advice Line at 1-800-TRICARE (874-2273). Option 1 will connect you with a nurse that can assist with any after-hours medical care or questions.

For Urgent Care:

All patients are required to notify the Clinic Nurse (301) 744-4602 within 3 business days to request a referral/authorization for any urgent care visits not coordinated with the on-call medical officer. Patients who fail to obtain the required referral/authorization will be financially responsible for any urgent care services and associated fees.

For emergency care

Dial 911 or go to the nearest emergency room (ER). There is no prior authorization needed for ER visits. Notify your Primary Care Manager within 24 hours of the ER visit. Call the clinic to schedule any follow-up appointments.
