Red Cross Blood Drive

Breakfast with Santa Claus
The Bay District Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring an all you can eat breakfast with Santa Claus Sunday, 8 a.m. at the firehouse on Shangri-La Drive in Lexington Park. The cost will be $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12. Free for children under 5.
Sotterley Holiday Candlelight Tours
A historical dramatization of life during the War of 1812 will be shown in the Holiday Candlelight Tours at Sotterley Plantation tomorrow and Saturday from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. The tours takes place inside the over 300 year old historic Mansion, which will be graced with period decorations.
Sotterley is under siege by the British occupation. The family is determined to hold its annual holiday celebration no matter what. Family and friends join the Platers for an evening quite different from holiday celebrations of previous years.
Live musical performances from local premiere high school choral groups and complimentary cookies will be available in the historic Barn, prior to the reserved tour time.

Madrigal Weekend
The Chopticon High School Choral Department is presenting ‘‘A Madrigal Weekend” Friday and Saturday, 6 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Chaptico. Tickets are $35 and include a three-course meal along with the holiday choral performance. Proceeds benefit the Chopticon High School choirs. For reservations or information, call 301-475-0215.
Gingerbread Workshops
The Calvert Library will hold gingerbread workshops for children in first to seventh grades. Two opportunities at offered at each location, from 10-11 a.m. or 2-3 p.m. The event will take place at the Fairview Branch Saturday and at the Twin Beaches library Dec. 10. Registration is required and can be made online at calvert.lib.md.us. Each attendee should bring a bag of candy for decorating.
Piney Point Holiday
Piney Point Lighthouse, Museum and Historic Park is presenting a holiday exhibit depicting Christmas as it would have been at five different times in history. It will be open Dec. 12, 13, 19 and 20, and then daily from Dec. 26 to Jan. 3. Asmission is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors and military, $1.50 for children 6-18, and free for ages five and under. American Legion Events
The American Legion in Lusby Steak Nite will be held tomorrow at 5 p.m. and features Rib-eye steak, new potatoes, vegetable, roll, soup and salad. Cost is only $15.
Breakfast with Santa will be held on Dec. 12 at 8 a.m. Cost is $7 for adults, $6 for Seniors 60 and over, $5 for children 4-10 years of age and free for children 3 and under.
The American Legion invites all active duty, serving the United States honorably anywhere in the world or who have served honorably during any eligible war eras to become a member. Holiday Open Mics
Southern Maryland Traditional Music and Dance is sponsoring an Open Mic Dec. 11, 7:30-10 p.m. at the Christ Episcopal Church Parish Hall on Route 234 in Chaptico. The Bay District Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring its Annual Winter Wonderland Festival Dec. 12, 5:30-9 p.m. at the firehouse on Shangri-La Drive in Lexington Park. Lighting of the Christmas Tree will be at 6:15 p.m. Events include a show by Mr. Magic, moon bounces and face painting.
