Shaw Road onboard Pax River will be closed Saturday from the Switzer Road roundabout to the new Aircraft Prototype Facility Saturday to allow for asphalt patching. Parking around Bldg 2191A will also be closed. In case of inclement weather, the work will be performed Dec. 12.
‘‘Scrooge” at Base Theater
‘‘Scrooge,” based on the Charles Dickens book ‘‘A Christmas Carol,” will be performed this weekend at the Base Theater, with all ticket receipts benefitting Navy-Marine Corps Relief. The Friday and Saturday performances are at 6 p.m., with a matinee performance Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Friday’s performance will be followed by the Pax River tree lighting and the arrival of Santa.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children ages 5-12. Children under age five are free but will need to have a ticket to insure the performances are not overbooked. The Base Theater seats 400, meaning there will be a total of 1,200 tickets available for the three performances.

Base telephoneautomated after hours
The Base Telephone Office has implementing an automated service for after hours calls to the Base Telephone Operator. This effort is in alignment with industry and government best practices to provide an efficient and cost effective solution for operator service. Between the hours of 6 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., callers will be greeted by a menu that features options for the most frequently requested services on base. BC⁄BS Carefirst visit
Bill Gray, the representative from BC⁄BS Carefirst, will be at Pax River Wednesday, Dec. 9, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in Room 159 of Building 1489.

H1N1 vaccine available
The Pax River Health Clinic will hold H1N1 vaccine clinics on Wednesdays, Dec. 9 and 16, 1-5 p.m. at the Base Theater. The vaccine will be available in mist and injectable form and will be available to anyone with base access. Approximately 3,500 doses are available, and therefore everyone is eligible to receive the vaccine regardless of whether they are members of the previously listed CDC-targeted groups.
INCOSE Luncheon
NAWCAD Commander Rear Adm. Donald Gaddis will provide his vision for Systems Engineering at NAVAIR when he is guest speaker at the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) of Southern Maryland luncheon at the Cedar Point Club Tuesday, 11:15 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
