NSAW Group Exercise Program
3rd floor of Washington Navy Yard fitness center, building 22

Eligible patrons: all Naval Support Activity Washington fitness-center members

Step Class (Mon. & Thurs.from 11 a.m. to noon): Aerobic workout performed in a choreographed routine by stepping up onto and down from a portable platform with toning exercises intermixed.

Cardio Kickboxing (Wed. from 11 a.m. to noon): A high-energy whole body workout with repetitive movements emphasizing power and control. Incorporates punches, kicks and intensity moves to improve balance, control and endurance.

Pilates (Thurs. from noon to 1 p.m.): Improves flexibility and strength without building bulk in this total fitness class. This mind-body exercise will target and tone the core muscles, abdominals and back, improve posture, coordination and flexibility.

Yoga (Tues. from noon to 1 p.m.): Incorporates physical poses and breathing techniques to develop awareness, tone, strength and alignment of the body.

Joint Base Preseason Basketball Tournament

It’s time to hit the hardcourt! Get your team together and sign up for the Joint Base (Anacostia-Bolling) preseason hoops tournament by Dec. 2. The double-elimination tournament will run from Dec. 4-15. It’s FREE to register and is open to all active duty, DOD civilians and contractors. Sign up at the NSF Anacostia fitness-center or Bolling Air Force Base gym. Again, the deadline for sign-ups is Dec. 2. Call (202) 294-1643 for flyer and registration.

Vehicle Storage

Need somewhere to store your vehicle? Register in Enterprise Hall, building 72, NSF Anacostia. The storage lot is secure and accommodates privately owned vehicles in spots both less or more than 25 feet. Regardless of the size of your vehicle, prices are $1.50⁄foot⁄month. All customers are required to sign a storage contract, provide copy of current registration and proof of liability insurance. Contact the fitness director, (202) 433-3160, for more information.

The Navy Child Development Home Program certifies those living in Navy housing both in Bellevue (Washington, D.C.) and Woodbridge, Va., to conduct child care in their homes.
