MWR Fall Golf Scramble
Tee off Oct. 21at 1 p.m. Register by Oct. 15 at any NSAW ITT/Fitness Center. Comics on Duty Tour
Comics on Duty is coming back to the WNY Catering & Conference Center, Oct. 23. Tickets are on sale at any NSAW ITT/Fitness Center. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and show is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Buffet style lunch will be served. American Freedom Festival 2008
Country music stars Alan Jackson and Trace Adkins will be headlining this special event and concert to honor all veterans. The Pentagon Channel will also be airing a live worldwide broadcast. Festival is Oct. 25 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., and tickets are on sale at any NSAW ITT office.
Pavilion and Sports Complex rentals
For your next command picnic or get together, rent the pavilions, gazebo or softball fields at the Anacostia Sports Complex. Rental fees are:
pavilions: $68
gazebo: $43
softball field: $25
softball field with pavilion: $15
cleaning deposit: $50
All reservations must be made 48 hours in advance. Rental fee and cleaning deposit must be paid in full at time of reservation. Please note that there is no electricity at any of the pavilions, gazebo or softball fields. Contact (202) 685-0895 for more information.
Vehicle Storage
Need somewhere to store your vehicle? Register in Enterprise Hall, building 72, NSF Anacostia. The storage lot is secure and accommodates privately owned vehicles in spots both less or more than 25’. Regardless of the size of your vehicle, prices are $1.50/foot/month. All customers are required to sign a storage contract, provide copy of current registration and proof of liability insurance. Turning Stone Resort
Civilian MWR is taking a trip to the fabulous Turning Stone Resort, nestled in the scenic Mohawk Valley of New York, for a two-night stay. Bus leaves WNY on Oct. 12 at 7 a.m. and returns 9 p.m. on Oct. 14. The cost is $215 per person based on double occupancy and includes lodging, transportation and a meal coupon. Tickets are on sale now at the ITT centers on the Navy Yard, building 22 and NSF Anacostia, building 419. There are no refunds. The Navy Child Development Home Program certifies those living in Navy housing both in Bellevue (Washington, D.C.) and Woodbridge, Va., to conduct child care in their homes.
