Sgt. 1st Class Ray Matthews runs as part of the Fort Myer Masters 40-plus division. Matthews and his team would take first place.
Fort Myer’s Army Ten-Miler team participated in the Navy Five-Miler held at West Potomac Park Sunday. The event gave the team a perfect chance to practice not only their pace but see how they perform with each other on the streets of Washington D.C.

In preparing for the Oct. 5 Army Ten-Miler many of the team runners needed this event to see how their times would stack up against the competition. Plus, the Fort Myer team runners had never run together before. It would show how they measure up as a team.

If these results are any indication of what is to come at the Army Ten-Miler then the rest of the nation better watch out.

There were four different team divisions at the Navy Five-Miler. Fort Myer took two out of four divisions, had multiple individual medalists and made the Army’s presence known.

Below are the results from the Sept. 28 Navy Five-Miler.
