First Annual Anacostia⁄Bolling 5k-10k Fun Run
Join Bolling Air Force Base Services and NSAW MWR for the first annual Joint Base Fun Run, Tuesday. Walkers will begin at 9:30 a.m. and runners will begin at 10. Cost is free for everyone. Start and finish will be at the NSF Anacostia fitness center parking lot, building 419. Bib and packet pick-up will be from 8-9 a.m. for walkers and from 8-9:30 for runners at the start⁄finish line. There will be professional timing for runners and commemorative t-shirts for sale. Register by TOMORROW at the NSFA fitness center or at the Bolling fitness center, building 15. Fun Run is open to all Military and DoD personnel supported by NSAW and Bolling AFB. American Freedom Festival 2008
Country music stars Alan Jackson and Trace Adkins will be headlining this special event and concert to honor all veterans. The Pentagon Channel will also be airing a live worldwide broadcast. Festival is Oct. 25 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., and tickets are on sale at any NSAW ITT office.
Washington Nationals Tickets
Purchase your tickets now at any ITT Office for all Washington Nationals home games! Four tickets are available for each game (must be purchased as a pair). Seats are located in section 105 (left field home run territory), row F, seats 17-20 and are $26.75 each. DOD personnel are eligible to park at the WNY on game days. Be sure to stop by Mordecai Booth's Public House before heading over to the game. Mordecai’s is open two hours before game time Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Pavilion and Sports Complex rentals
For your next command picnic or get together, rent the pavilions, gazebo or softball fields at the Anacostia Sports Complex. Rental fees are:

softball field: $25
softball field with pavilion: $15
cleaning deposit: $50

Turning Stone Resort
Civilian MWR is taking a trip to the fabulous Turning Stone Resort, nestled in the scenic Mohawk Valley of New York, for a two-night stay. Bus leaves WNY on Oct. 12 at 7 a.m. and returns 9 p.m. on Oct. 14. The cost is $215 per person based on double occupancy and includes lodging, transportation and a meal coupon. Tickets are on sale now at the ITT centers on the Navy Yard, building 22 and NSF Anacostia, building 419. There are no refunds.
