Motorcycle Safety Training

Motorcycle safety training is required for all active duty military personnel who operate a motorcycle on or off base. DoD civilians must also take the training if they intend to ride motorcycles on military installations. The classes are Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) approved, and all participants that successfully complete the class will receive an MSF card. Classes are not open to retirees, dependents, or contractor personnel. Military Sport Bike Rider (MSRC) is a new class, mandatory for all riders of sport bikes, and is taken after successful completion of the Basic Rider Class (BRC). Riders operating a cruiser-style motorcycle will take the Experienced Rider class (ERC) after successful completion of the BRC. Recertification is now required every three years for the MSRC and ERC. Pass and ID will be verifying current MSF certification prior to issuing DoD decals for your motorcycle. Classes are offered at Ft. Meade, Anacostia, Dahlgren and PAX River Naval Air Station. Personnel must register for the Anacostia classes using ESAMS at https:⁄⁄www.hgwllc.com⁄ESAMS_GEN_2⁄ LoginEsams.aspx. Contact the Safety Dept. at 410-293-5668 or 410-293-5667 if assistance is needed. To register for the Ft. Meade classes, go to https:⁄⁄www.hgwllc.com⁄ ESAMS_GEN_2⁄Login Esams.aspx and follow the link to Army Traffic Safety Training.

    AHLTA Focus Group Participation

You can participate if you are a staff member who either reads or writes AHLTA patient notes (including admin, nursing or provider staff) or a patient, or a patient’s family and caregiver over 18 years old. Participants will spend about 60 minutes in a focus group or interview during which a group facilitator will lead a discussion about the things you think are helpful to see in patient notes and how the notes should be organized. They will also ask for your thoughts on what makes a note less useful. Focus group sessions will be held July 7 and 9. Please contact Cmdr.
