Mass Transit Benefits can be applied for online

E-Mail This Article Print This Story
People can apply for mass transit benefits (MTBs) using a new web-based portal. Users of MTBs currently enrolled in the program will also be able to make changes to their status, and if need be, withdraw from the program altogether, using the new portal.

Officials say the automated application process provides convenience, customer control and timeliness. Applicants can apply at the click of a mouse using a CAC-enabled, Web-based system for the program.

Applicants will receive status notification by e-mail throughout the review and approval process for MTBs. Supervisors will also receive their employees’ applications by e-mail, with a link for reviewing and online approval.

For more information about the system, go to the Department of Defense Web site http://www.whs.mil/DFD/Info/NCRTransitSubsidy.cfm.
