New Session of Weight Watchersat Work Begins Soon

Want to get rid of the extra pounds? Weight Watchers at Work will hold an open house for a new session on June 24 at the Chapel Annex. New session will begin on July 1. Weight Watchers at Work meets on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. at the Chapel Annex. For more information, please contact Darlene Keating at (540) 653-7993.

Hot Wings on June 25!

The Navy Ball Committee will be selling hot wings for lunch on Thursday, June 25 from 10:30 a.m. until the wings are gone at the ATRC Gazebo, Bldg. 1520. Cost is $5 for 7 wings and a drink. All proceeds benefit the 2009 Navy Ball Committee.

ASBP Blood Drive July 9

Armed Services Blood Program will conduct a blood drive on Thursday, July 9 in the Bldg. 1470 conference room from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. All blood collected benefits military members and their families at home, overseas, in harm’s way and in rehabilitation for injuries. Give the gift of life to our troops – give blood!

Patriots Day Opportunities Available

NSF Dahlgren will host a Patriots Day⁄Military Retiree Appreciation Open House on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Food vendors are needed for this event. Any non-profit organization that would like to sell food can secure a food trailer for a fee of $50. Crafters and car show participants are also needed. FFSC Offers Free Legal Service

Appointments are available for June 25 for free legal assistance through Naval Support Activity South Potomac's Fleet and Family Support Center in Dahlgren. Any legal questions or concerns can be addressed by the attorney from Naval District Washington. Wills can be created. Active-duty or retired military personnel, family members, and deploying civilians are eligible for this free legal service. Appointments may be scheduled by calling Carol Sparbel at (540) 653-1839.

NSASP Adopts Troops

Naval Support Activity South Potomac has adopted an Army and a Marine Corps unit that are currently serving in Iraq. The command is collecting items to be shipped to these all-male units, consisting of 100 members each. Donation boxes are located at the Navy Exchange, NSWC Federal Credit Union and the King George Citizen’s Center. Items will be shipped as they are received. Numerous items are requested, including baby wipes, foot powder, socks for boots in green, black, or brown, powdered energy drinks and sports drink (1 liter or smaller), sunscreen , bug spray (for the body), lip balm, packaged cookies, disposable razors and replacement blades, AA batteries, deodorant, anti-bacterial wipes, hand⁄foot warmers, nail clippers, tweezers, first aid kit, dental travel kit (includes toothbrush, toothpaste, floss or mouthwash), shampoo, combs, shaving gel, hand sanitizer, cotton swabs, tissues, toilet paper, assortment of gum, canned soup and pasta, jerky, tuna lunch kits, fruit cups, raisins, fruit & oatmeal muffin bars, Rice Krispies treats, cheese crackers, chips, Combos, Chex Mix, honey roasted peanuts, sunflower seeds, coffee and sugar packets, tea bags, hot cider, current DVDs, current CDs, current or best-selling novels, men's magazines i.e.; Sports Illustrated, Maxim, Stuff, FHM.

Energetic Toastmasters
