All station employees and residents are asked to come out and show their support and appreciation at the next IA Homecoming celebration scheduled today at 5 p.m. in the atrium of the Rear Adm. William A. Moffett Building (#2272).

The event will begin with a parade at 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Navy Exchange where the returning service members will gather to march along the parade route to Bldg. 2272. There the IAs and their families will be greeted by well wishers, followed by an awards presentation.

Immediately following the IA Homecoming there will be a ceremony in honor of the Battle of Midway. There will be displays and informative placards describing the battle placed throughout the atrium for viewing along with a short ceremony commemorating the event.

The uniform for E-6 and below is summer whites, E-7 and above should wear CNT khakis.

RAPIDGate is coming!

Beginning July 1 NAVAIR (blue and brown) badges will no longer be accepted for access to the NAS Pax River Complex including Webster Field Annex and NRC Solomons.

To gain access to the station after June 30 contractors must have either a Common Access Card (CAC), a RAPIDGate card or a temporary paper pass issued from the Pass and ID office. Enrollment in RAPIDGate began in early March and registration stations are located at the Gate 2 Pass Office and the Webster Field Pass Office. Registration is first come, first serve and on site registration is being offered for companies who need to enroll large numbers of employees. RAPIDGate cards are for contractor employees who do not have the Common Access Card (CAC). It is recommended that contractors call the customer service number to verify their company is set up in the RAPIDGate system before visiting a registration station. To set up onsite registration or verify company registration contractors should call 1-877-RAPIDGate (877-727-4342). Fishing Derby The Mattapany Rod and Gun Club will host its ninth annual Kids Fishing Derby June 6. This is a free event, open to the first 100 applicants ages 5-16. An adult must accompany all children under the age of 12. Participants must supply their own rod and reel, bait and stringer. Free refreshments will be provided at the end of the derby. Prizes will also be presented at that time. For more information, call Dave Bryner at 301-481-5176. Million Dollar Sailor Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) is offering a new class, Million Dollar Sailor on June 9 and 10. This class is a personal wealth building program for Sailors and family members. It is a two day seminar consisting of eleven modules ranging from Millionaire Money Management to a Million Dollars Worth of Resources and is designed to educate and assist junior Navy service members and their families in their quest to have a better quality of life with more financial choices. It is a proactive approach that teaches sound money management principals that when applied can assist Sailors and their families with specific transitions that are unique to the military lifestyle. For more information or reservations call FFSC at 301-342-4911. Webster Field gate closed The Webster Field main gate is closed for installation of antiterrorism/force protection improvements. The project is expected to take 6-8 weeks. Gate 2 (Beachville Road) will be the 24-hour gate during the equipment installation. All visitors who require credentials will still be required to check into the Pass and ID Office at Bldg. 8133 before proceeding to Gate 2.
