The Army Spouse Employment Partnership (ASEP) is a partnership for Active and Reserves Army Spouses to attain financial security and achieve employment goals through career mobility and enhanced employment options.
In October 2003, the Army formally signed a Statement of Support with Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies and two military agencies who pledged their best efforts to increase employment and career opportunities for spouses. Currently, there are 27 total partners from the private sector, the military, and the federal government, with others being considered through an application process. In Fiscal Year 2007, ASEP partners hired more than 7,000 military spouses, bringing the grand total of spouses hired through ASEP to 23,400.
The Military Spouse Job Search (www.msjs.org), the ASEP-sponsored jobs and resume database serves as a portal for military spouses to post resumes, apply for jobs, and obtain career information. ASEP partners post their military spouse targeted job openings and have access to spouse resumes. As an association page to Americaís Job Exchange, spouses have access to thousands of new jobs daily with military-friendly employers.
Current ASEP partners include such agencies and companies as: Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP), AT&T, CVS/pharmacy, Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), Dell, Inc., Department of the Army Civilian Personnel Office, Home Depot, H&R Block, Humana Military Healthcare Services, Kelly, Lockheed Martin, Sears Holdings Corporation, Social Security Administration, Starbucks Coffee Company, SunTrust Bank, Toys ìRî Us, and United Services Automobile Association (USAA).
