Safety Fair, Motorcycle Rally

Each year MCBQ Safety Division hosts various events to increase safety awareness, and mishap prevention. This year’s event, Safety Fair and Motorcycle Rally, is scheduled for May 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Barnett Field. The intent is to promote safety awareness; reinforcing the importance of establishing a safe and healthy workplace, and practicing safe work habits at all times by all employees.

Vet clinic offers vaccines

The Quantico Veterinary Clinic is offering walk-in vaccines, Fecals and Heartworm testing Saturday from 8 to 11:30 a.m. All walk-ins must be signed in by 11:30 in order to be seen.

No children under the age of 12 years will are allowed to be present. If your pet has not been seen here before, bring in previous vaccine history.

Health clinic closure

The Naval Health Clinic will be open May 15 from 7:15 a.m. to noon and will be closed from noon to 6 p.m. for a commandwide function. For more information, contact the public affairs office at (703) 784-1534.

New menu available at TCAQ

The Clubs at Quantico has discontinued the lunch buffet. The Clubs now has an al a carte menu in the Officers’ Dining and Runner’s Room. Hot entree, deli buffet and salad; all by the ounce will be available in the Marathon. For questions regarding the new lunch menu, contact the Clubs at (703) 784-4262⁄64.

Base McDonalds to close

The McDonalds here will be closing May 18 and will reopen in mid-September. The facility will be closed to build a new McDonalds at the same location.

Delay likely with gate construction

Construction of vital improvements at the Main Gate is now ongoing and required military police to implement a special traffic plan to control traffic flow. Delays are expected at the Main Gate, adjacent to the town of Triangle, throughout this construction period of about two months.

Only inbound traffic will be allowed through the Main Gate from 5 to 9 a.m. on weekdays. All outbound traffic will be required to use the Golf Course Gate or Back Gate during these times. Only Outbound traffic will be allowed through the Main Gate from 3 to 6 p.m. on weekdays. All inbound traffic will be required to use the Golf Course Gate or Back Gate during these times.

Normal traffic flow will occur, alternating incoming and outgoing traffic, during all other times, including weekends and federal holidays. Drivers are urged to plan for delays and always obey the instructions of military police during this time to minimize delays.
