For the third year MWR will be hosting a Wine Festival on the outdoor patio of the WNY Catering and Conference Center. The Wine Festival will give attendees the chance to sample a variety of wines while enjoying music and an afternoon by the water. The wine tasting will be on Thursday, May 8, from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
All attendees will receive a souvenir wine glass, hors d’oeuvres, music by the Navy Band and door prizes. CMWR Las Vegas trip
Come join CMWR for a trip to Las Vegas, Nev., Nov. 14 to 17. The trip includes staying at the Mirage Hotel and Resort. There will be free pick-up service to and from the airport in Las Vegas. The cost is $685 per person based on double occupancy and is limited to two per person. Tickets go on sale April 9 at the ITT centers at WNY, bldg. 22 and NSF Anacostia, Bldg. 419. Captain’s Cup tennis clinic & tournament
Registration deadline is TODAY for the tennis clinics which will be held Tuesday at the WNY outdoor court or Wednesday at the NSF Anacostia sports complex from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Captain’s Cup tennis tournament begins May 14 after work and during lunch. Washington Nationals Tickets
Purchase your tickets now at any ITT Office for all Washington Nationals home games! Four tickets are available for each game (must be purchased as a pair). Seats are located in section 105, row F, seats 17-20 and are $26.75 each. DoD personnel are eligible to park at the Washington Navy Yard on game days. Be sure to stop by Mordecai Booth's Public House before heading over to the game. Mordecai’s is open two hours before game time Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays.
CMWR at Universoul Circus
Come one, come all and join CMWR at the Universoul Circus May 17 and May 24 at the Capital Plaza Mall, 6100 Annapolis Road in Landover Hills, Md. Both shows start at 4:30 p.m. Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before each show. Tickets cost $20 per person. There’s a limit of five tickets per person. CMWR delivers ‘‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”in New York
Come with CMWR to see the hottest Broadway play of 2008, starring Terrence Howard, Phylicia Rashad, James Earl Jones and Anika Noni Rose, June 7. The cost is $111 and includes transportation, play tickets and dinner at Sylvia’s Restaurant. The bus will depart WNY Bldg. 166 parking lot at 7:30 a.m. and will return at midnight. All CMWR command employees are eligible to attend. Non-DOD names must be turned in by May 30. Purchases are limited to two per person, and the non-refundable tickets go on sale May 5 at the ITT centers in WNY Bldg. 22 and NSF Anacostia Bldg. 419. Vehicle Storage
Need somewhere to store your vehicle? Register in Bldg. 419, NSF Anacostia fitness center. Storage lot is secure and accommodates privately owned vehicles in spots less than 25’ and spots over 25’. Regardless of the size of your vehicle, prices are: $1.50⁄foot⁄month. All customers are required to sign a storage contract, provide copy of current registration and proof of liability insurance. CMWR at King’s Dominion
Tickets go on sale Friday for CMWR Day at Paramount Kings Dominion, which will take place June 21, rain or shine. All CMWR command employees are eligible to attend. The cost is $25 per person, which includes admission to the park and an all-you-can-eat buffet from noon to 2 p.m. Children under age 3 will be admitted free for the buffet. Season pass holders to the park may purchase separate buffet tickets for $10 per person. The buffet menu includes fried chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, condiments (including chili and cheese), cole slaw, baked beans, ice cream treats and drinks. Transportation to and from the park will not be provided. Parking tickets are available in advance and cost $5 per vehicle. The last day to purchase tickets is June 12. There are no refunds.
