Volunteers are needed for Christmas in April – St. Mary’s County’s the 18th National Rebuilding Day, which will take place April 26. Twenty-three homes and one community project have been selected for repairs which include: roof repair and replacement, wheelchair ramp construction, entryway repair, laying carpet and flooring, electrical and sheetrock work, plumbing repair, painting, yard work and hauling. These homes belong to low-income, elderly, and disabled homeowners in St. Mary’s County.
Organizers still are looking for volunteer roofers, plumbers, carpenters, electricians, glaziers and HVAC technicians.

Special Olympics
Volunteers are also needed to support the Special Olympics St. Mary's County 38th annual Spring Games April 29 (rain date May 1) at Leonardtown High School.
Volunteers are needed to serve as events judges and escorts. More than 200 athletes will compete in bocce ball, softball and a variety of track and field events, including relays, shot-put, softball throw, standing broad-jump and running long-jump.
Those interested in serving as an event judge should contact their command’s Special Olympics point of contact to register to volunteer. If you cannot determine if your organization⁄competency⁄squadron or activity has a POC, contact AC1 Christopher League via e-mail to christopher.league@navy.mil.
