Commissary Opening
The new Fort Detrick commissary will open with a ceremony April 8 at 9:30 a.m. The opening day events will include giveaways, deals, and much more. The new commissary will be almost twice the size of the existing store and will offer many more services.
Society of Comptrollers Scholarship
The American Society of Military Comptrollers will give its 13th annual scholarship award for $1,000 to a deserving student majoring in financial management in the Frederick and Washington Counties. The scholarship application package is available at area high schools or by contacting Dana Coulby at 301-619-7726. Applications must be postmarked by April 16 to be considered.
Federal Women’s Program
The Fort Detrick Federal Women’s Program is scheduled to present ''Breaking Through the Glass Ceiling to Advance Your Career: Strategies on Getting to the Next Level.'' For women and people of color, moving ahead in their careers can feel like an uphill battle. Young Engineers in Science
The YES Program is open to current 6th and 7th grade students attending any Middle School in Frederick County. This also includes any eligible student of a parent that works at Fort Detrick.
The program is a week-long science summer camp held in collaboration with Fort Detrick scientists, Frederick County Schools, and Hood College. All students interested in the program need to complete both the application and teacher recommendation form.

Tax Center
The Fort Dort Detrick Tax Center is open for business 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. each Wednesday and Thursday. The center is also open each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Taxpayers may make an appointment or walk-in for assistance during these hours. The center is located in Building 901.
