The Dahlgren School Board announced at its March meeting that an election will be held on May 20 to fill two three-year post position vacancies on the board. Board members are actively involved military community members who demonstrate interest in one of the most vital aspects of our American way of life - the education of our young people.
Any parent of a child attending Dahlgren School and living on Dahlgren can enter the election. To be a candidate, each person seeking office must pick up the official ‘‘School Board Candidate Petition” from the office of the Superintendent of Schools at Dahlgren School, 193 Sampson Rd. Dahlgren. The completed petition, with the signature of one eligible voter, must be returned to the Superintendent’s office by May 7 for names to be placed on the official ballot.
School board members are elected by parents of children attending school at Dahlgren and serve for up to a three-year term of office.
A ‘‘Meet the Candidate” night will be held in conjunction with the regular School Board meeting on May 14 .
Get involved and support your community and school. Run for election as a school board member. Pick up a “Candidate Petition“ package at the Superintendent's office, complete the petition, and turn it in before the suspense date.
Please call the Superintendent’s office at 653-1000 if there are any questions.
