Commissary to Hold Car Wash⁄Cookout Events in April
The Dahlgren Commissary will hold car wash⁄cookout events on April 14, 21, and 28 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Lunch meals will be served for set prices, and car washes will be available for donations. All proceeds benefit American Logistics Agency, an organization that assists commissary employees in need.
Vanpool Riders Needed
Fredericksburg - NSF Dahlgren For $15 per month! Riders are needed for two vanpools from Ferry Farm Wal-Mart in Fredericksburg to Naval Support Facility Dahlgren. Effective April 1, one van serves A-side (Mainside) and the other B-Side (JWAC side). There is space for up to five riders on each van.
The monthly cost is $130 per person. The Transportation Incentive Program just increased to $115 per month which means a monthly out-of-pocket fee of $15. Ask your TIP coordinator for Metro Checks.
Wal-Mart morning pick-up (for A-side riders only) is 6:40 a.m. and afternoon pickup from A-side is roughly 4 p.m. (this equates to a 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. working schedule). Wal-Mart morning pickup (B-side riders only) is roughly 6:15 a.m. and afternoon pickup from B-side is 3:45 p.m. (this equates to a 7 a.m. to 3:30-3:45 p.m. work schedule).

DOSC Accepting Applications for Scholarship and Annual Charities Distribution<P>
The Dahlgren Officers’ Spouses’ Club is pleased to announce the application for the Rosemarie Blades Honorary Scholarship for 2008 is now available. The scholarship this year is divided into three categories:
High School Senior
Undergraduate Student
Spouse Undergraduate Student
Eligible candidates must be the dependent child or spouse of an active duty, retired or deceased military member who has served a permanent change of duty station (PCS) in Dahlgren, VA. Further eligibility requirements and application procedures are included in the applications. The amounts awarded will depend on funds raised by DOC and determined by the members of DOSC.

The Dahlgren Officer’s Spouses’ Club (DOSC) is also proud to announce their 2008 charities distribution. DOSC raises funds by maintaining ‘‘The Second Tour” thrift shop located on NSASP Dahlgren. We accept gently used clothing and household goods and then sell them at the store. The moneys raised at the store are given back to the community and back to our base in the form of charitable contributions. We are now accepting nominations of charitable non-profit organizations in the King George⁄Dahlgren area. Nominations are due no later than April 15. Please submit a letter of request, to include:

DoD Civilians Can Buy Foodat the Navy Exchange
As of Feb. 1, DoD civilians will be allowed to purchase food and non-alcoholic beverages at the Navy Exchange stores at Dahlgren and Indian Head, as well as use barber services at both sites.
