Comics on Duty tour

Comics on Duty are coming back to the Washington Navy Yard’s Catering & Conference Center, April 24. Tickets go on sale at any Naval Support Activity Washington ITT⁄Fitness Center, March 24. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and the show is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Buffet style lunch will be served.

Lunchtime Cruise Aboard the Spirit of Washington

CMWR is sponsoring a cruise aboard the Spirit of Washington May 2 Boarding begins at 11:30 a.m. from Pier 4 at 6th and Water Streets. Departure time is noon and cruise returns at 3 p.m. Cost is $20 per person and includes a riverfront tour, a delicious luncheon buffet, show, dancing and door prizes. All CMWR command employees are eligible to attend. Tickets are non-refundable. CMWR is not responsible for lost tickets. Tickets go on sale April 2, limit five per person, and are available at the following locations: WNY ITT center, building 22, or the NSF Anacostia ITT center, Bldg. 419. Captain's Cup racquetball tournament

This lunchtime and after-work tournament begins March 24. Games will be played Tuesday through Thursday until the conclusion of the tournament. Cost is free for active duty, $5 for DoD civilians and $11 for contractors. AARA rules will be used and entry deadline is March 21. Washington Nationals Rafflefor Opening Day Tickets

Raffle will be held at Mordecai Booth's Public House March 25 from 4 - 7 p.m. Enter the raffle for a chance to win the right to purchase four opening day tickets for the Nat’s home opener against the Atlanta Braves March 30 at 8:05 p.m.! Washington Nationals Tickets

Pre-purchase your tickets now at any ITT Office for all Washington Nationals home games! Four tickets are available for each game (must be purchased as a pair). Seats are located in section 105, row F, seats 17-20 and are $26.75 each. Tickets are not available for opening day. DoD personnel are eligible to park at the Washington Navy Yard on game days, see the parking note on page three of The Waterline. Be sure to stop by Mordecai Booth's Public House before heading over to the game.

Captain's Cup men's & co-ed softball league

It's that time! Get your team together now for the Spring softball season. League begins April 14. Registration deadline is April 7. League will be played at the NSAW Anacostia sports complex softball fields. Men's League will play Monday and Wednesday, Co-Ed League will play Tuesday and Thursday, at 6 and 7 p.m. Cost is free for active duty, $30 for DOD civilians, and $44 for contractors. Payments must be made no later than April 9. A MANDATORY coaches meeting will be held Wednesday, April 9 at 1 p.m. in the Anacostia Fitness Center, Bldg. 419.

CMWR Atlantic City trip

CMWR will be going to Atlantic City April 26. All CMWR command employees are eligible to attend. Buses will depart from Bldg. 166 at the Washington Navy Yard at 11 a.m. and will return at approximately 1 a.m. All non-DoD personnel must submit their names for access to the Navy Yard no later than April 18. Tickets go on sale March 26 for $10, limit two per person, no refunds, at the ITT centers at the WNY, Bldg. 22, and NSF Anacostia, Bldg. 419. MWR Wine Festival

For the third year MWR will be hosting a Wine Festival on the outdoor patio of the WNY Catering and Conference Center. The Wine Festival will give attendees the chance to sample a variety of wines while enjoying music and an afternoon by the water. The wine tasting will be on Thursday, May 8, from 3 to 5:30 p.m.

As in previous years, you will be able to try a variety of wines from full bodied reds, to crisp whites and even sparkling wines. Professional staff will be there to serve and answer all of your questions. All attendees will receive a souvenir wine glass, hors d’oeuvres, music by the Navy Band and door prizes. CMWR going to ‘‘Little Mermaids”

CMWR presents a trip to see “The Little Mermaids“ on Broadway in New York. Bus departs WNY Bldg. 166 Saturday, April 19 at 8 a.m. and returns around 11 p.m. the same night. Tickets on sale at the NSF Anacostia and WNY ITT Centers for $120 each and include roundtrip transportation, continental breakfast, dinner and ticket to the play.
