Quantico golf tournament
The Prince William Chapter of the American Red Cross will host its third Quantico Golf Tournament April 18 at the Medal of Honor Golf Course on Marine Corp Base Quantico. The course is dedicated to the memory of the Marines who have been awarded our nation’s highest honor.
This exclusive course has been a popular retreat for Commanders-in-Chief since the 1950’s. An authorized host must accompany civilian guests, so this is a rare opportunity to play at one of the area’s most exclusive golf courses and help support the local Red Cross and the programs of the Quantico office.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and play will begin at 8:30 a.m.
In addition to playing, local companies and defense contractors can also support this event through sponsorships and in-kind donations. Sponsorships range from $3,500 for title sponsor to $200 for hole sponsors. All players must pre-register. Foursomes take to the course for $500 and individual players tee off for $150, active duty military must call for discounted price.
For registrations and sponsorships call (703) 784-3113 or (703) 368-4511, ext. 227, or e-mail Brian Shaw at brian.a.shaw@usmc.mil.
All proceeds raised from this tournament will be used to support the ongoing programs of the Red Cross on Marine Corps Base Quantico to include emergency messaging services and Armed Forces Emergency Services case work, newcomer orientations for service personnel and families, in⁄out processing of military members, adult and youth volunteer programs for the base, and first aid, CPR, water safety training and other health and safety and preparedness training as well as disaster relief assistance.
This year the Prince William Chapter will celebrate 90 years of providing assistance to residents of Prince William County, City of Manassas, City of Manassas Park, and Quantico Marine Corps Base.
