Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) sponsors a program called ėGains in the Education of Mathematics and Scienceî or ėGEMS.î GEMS sessions are from one week to four weeks of research during the summer.
The program is for youth in grades 7 to 12 to explore and be part of science research. Areas of research include biology, chemistry, physics, engineering and much more.
Parents can find out more about the program and the application process on March 20 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. during a ėbrown bagî session in the Army Community Service Center (Bldg. 17) lower level. Research Scientist Dr. Jett from WRAIR will provide program information.
