Correction
In the article ‘‘Wounded warrior facing new challenges” published in last week’s Stripe, it should have been properly stated that C-legs are used by transfemorals, not transtibals. Also, the microprocessor in the C-leg described is found in the knee and not the ankle, and there’s no data that the C-leg is most commonly used, found or built here. Also, the C-leg is also not built almost entirely of plastic, as the article stated.
Employee classes

The OPM⁄WRAMC Veterans Outreach Liaison Office is in Delano Hall (Bldg. 11), Rm. G-11. USDA youth research programs
The Research Apprenticeship Program is designed to provide practical experience in food and agricultural sciences for high school and college students. This program provides an opportunity for participants to interact with research scientists and gain first-hand experience in a research environment. Van to Silver Spring
The Mologne House courtesy van travels from the main installation to the front of the Silver Spring Mall Monday through Friday hourly from 5 to 10 p.m. The van departs from the Mologne House at 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 p.m., and makes stops at Fenton Street.
Commander’s blog
The Walter Reed hospital commander’s blog can be accessed at the Internet site http:⁄⁄blogs.wramc.amedd.army.mil⁄hospital. The blog is designed to provide an avenue of communication between the hospital commander, patients, Families and staff.
Free babysitting services
Walter Reed’s Child and Youth Services now offers free babysitting services. CYS certifies all babysitters. Certification includes first aid and CPR training. Babysitters work in pairs to ensure safety. Call Pat Harris at (202) 271-1878, or CYS at (202) 782-0565.
Walt’s Express
Walt’s Express food service in the hospital has after-hours service from 6:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., seven days a week. Meal cards can be used during after-hours. For information call 782-6336.

HIPAA training
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act training is an annual requirement for everyone who works at Walter Reed. If you have not registered and completed HIPAA training you must do so immediately using the following link: https:⁄⁄mhslearn.satx.disa.mil⁄ilearn⁄en⁄learner⁄jsp⁄default.htm. If you are registered in MHS Learn, you are required to complete your HIPAA refresher training annually during your birth month.
