Civilian Welfare Council Trip

A trip to the Resorts Casino in Atlantic City April 11 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. will be sponsored by the Civilian Welfare Council. The cost is $33 and the deadline to sign up is March 28. Call Donna Gant at 301-619-4179 for more information.

Retiree Council Meeting

The Fort Detrick All Services Retiree Council meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Community Support Center, 1520 Freedman Dr. The meeting room will be indicated at the main entrance. All armed forces retirees are welcome. For more information, call 301-619-3381 or 301-619-3386.

Society of Comptrollers Scholarship

The American Society of Military Comptrollers will give its 13th annual scholarship award for $1,000 to a deserving student majoring in financial management in the Frederick and Washington Counties. The scholarship application package is available at area high schools or by contacting Dana Coulby at 301-619-7726. Applications must be postmarked by April 16 to be considered.

Federal Women’s Program

The Fort Detrick Federal Women’s Program is schedule to present ''Breaking Through the Glass Ceiling to Advance Your Career: Strategies on Getting to the Next Level.'' For women and people of color, moving ahead in their careers can feel like an uphill battle. Join the group for a lively and interactive discussion on breaking through the glass ceiling and lessons learned along the way.April 16 from 11:3 to1 p.m. at the Rally Point Recreation Center, 1529 Porter St. Attendees can either bring their own lunch or order lunch at the Rally Point. Career Day

The Army Community Service Employment Readiness Program is co-sponsoring the Fort Detrick Defense Technology and Intelligence Career Day March 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Odom Fitness Center, 1507 Porter St. For more information, call 301-619-2208.

Tax Center

The Fort Dort Detrick Tax Center is open for business 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. each Wednesday and Thursday. The center is also open each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Taxpayers may make an appointment or walk-in for assistance during these hours. The center is located in Building 901.
