Guest Artist Seriescontinues Sunday

The Air Force Band's popular Guest Artist Series, is a time-honored tradition in the nation's capital.

What began in 1966 as a series to highlight professional as well as amateur talent from the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, has evolved over the years to feature entertainers of national and international renown.

Featured Sunday is the award-winning Canadian Brass ensemble.

Now, after 40 years of the Guest Artist Series, more than 200 prominent artists, such as Roy Clark, Chaka Khan, Keiko Matsui, Rita Coolidge and Kirk Whalum, have offered their time and talent to appear with The Air Force Band in these free concerts for the community.

Guest Artist Series concerts are held at the Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall, 18th and D Streets, NW, Washington, D.C. Performances begin at 3 p.m. and are free and open to the public. Doors open at 2 p.m. For details, call the United States Air Force Band’s 24-hour concert line at 202-767-5658 or visit the USAF Band Web site at www.usafband.af.mil.
