Read Across America will be held at the Library from 10 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Every half hour starting at 10 a.m., a story by Dr. Seuss will begin. Children of all ages are welcome. There will be eight guests reading a Dr. Seuss story every half hour between 10 a.m. and noon; and then again between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. Kids will have a chance to make their own ‘‘Cat in the Hat” hat and everyone will go home with bookmarks.

Let’s Plant Some Seeds will be the topic of Story Time at the Library at 10 a.m. Children should be dressed in ‘‘grubby” clothes since seeds will be planted in small containers in preparation for Earth Day April 22. The children will continue to monitor their flower gardens at every story time-to water, weed, and watch their flowers grow all spring and summer.

Free digital photo classes will be held at the Arts & Crafts Center the first and third Wednesday of each month from 6 to 8 p.m. Get the most out of your digital camera. A St. Patrick’s Day Membership Luncheon will be held in the Washington Dining Room from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Free for club members and $11.95 for non-members. There will be a DJ for entertainment, prizes and a special buffet.

Be a part of St.Patrick’s Day by participating in the Fitness Center’s annual 5K Fun Run⁄Walk at noon. This event is open to active duty, DoD civilians and dependents. You must be 18 or older. The top three finishing times for men and women will receive prizes. The route will take you past some favorite spots here on Bolling Air Force Base, including along the waterfront where you will have views of the Capitol and Washington Monument for inspiration to keep going.

March 15

A base-wide Easter Egg Hunt will be held from 9:30 to 11:10 a.m. at the Youth Center Soccer Field (Rain day location - Youth Center Gym). Gather as many eggs as you can. Kids will be put into groups based on their age. Some eggs will have special prizes inside. Everyone will receive an Easter bag of treats. The Easter Bunny will be there to pose with your little ones.
