NRL Fitness Center Pool Update

MWR has reached an agreement for active duty military personnel to swim at a D.C. Parks and Recreation Pool located at 635 North Carolina Ave, SE. Each active duty member must show their military ID to be admitted. There will be no charge for this activity at this particular location. For more information contact the MWR recreation director at (202) 685-0895.

MWR Chili cook-off

The MWR Chili Cook-Off will be held Feb. 27 at the Naval Support Facility Anacostia fitness center, building 419 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. If cooking chili isn’t your forte, but eating it is, then join us at the cook-off for food and fun. Captain’s Cup Darts Tournament

CC Darts Tournament will be held at Mordecai Booth’s Public House, building 101 at the Washington Navy Yard, today at 3:30 p.m. Cost is free for active duty, $5 for DOD civilians and $7 for contractors. Singles and doubles competitions will be played (doubles partners must be from the same command and are only allowed to participate in one competition). FREE Wing Night at the Pub!

Join us at Mordecai Booth’s Public House at the WNY for a night of fun and FREE wings Feb. 28. Cost is free and festivities are from 4 to 6 p.m. For more information call (202) 433-3041.

Captain’s Cup Shamrock 5k

The 7th Annual CC Shamrock 5k will be held on, you guessed it, March 17, St. Patrick’s Day! Race will begin at the NSF Anacostia fitness center, Bldg. 419 parking lot. Walkers will start at 10 a.m. and runners will start at 10:30. Cost is free for active duty, $5 for DOD civilians, and $7 for contractors. Registration deadline is March 10 and race packet and bib pick-up will be held on race day at race location. On race day, runners⁄walkers will receive a long sleeve t-shirt, post race refreshments, professional timing, plus Pot O’ Gold prizes! CMWR going to ‘‘Little Mermaids”

CMWR presents a trip to see “The Little Mermaids“ on Broadway in New York. Bus departs WNY Bldg.166 Saturday, April 19 at 8 a.m. and returns around 11 p.m. the same night. Tickets on sale at the NSF Anacostia and WNY ITT Centers for $120 each and include roundtrip transportation, continental breakfast, dinner and ticket to the play. Vehicle Storage

Need somewhere to store your vehicle? Register in Bldg. 419, NSF Anacostia fitness center. Storage lot is secure and accommodates privately owned vehicles in spots less than 25’ and spots over 25’. Regardless of the size of your vehicle, prices are: $1.50⁄foot⁄month. All customers are required to sign a storage contract, provide copy of current registration and proof of liability insurance.
