Valentine's dinner, dance

Thursday, Feb. 14 the Cedar Point Officers’ Club is offering a Valentine’s dinner and dance Feb. 14 for you and your sweetheart. Dinner will be served from 6 - 8 p.m. Music and dancing will be from 7:30 - 10:30 p.m. The price is $25 per person. Tickets may be purchased in the club or by major credit card at 301-342-3656. Tickets are non-refundable and may be purchased through Feb. 14, pending availability. Coupons are not redeemable for this event. Gratuity is not included in the price. Valentine’s dinner

Valentine's getaway

Mardi Gras party

Friday, the Flight Deck Lounge has your Mardi Gras festivities starting at 5 p.m.

Woodworking class

Register now for the popular basic woodworking class offered at MWR’s Wood Hobby Shop. Tuesday night classes begin March 18. The six-week class meets from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the CrafTech Bldg. 415. The cost is $75 per student and includes all materials. Registration begins Feb. 20 in the Wood Hobby Shop. Class is open to active-duty, retired, reservists and their family members 18 years of age and older, and DoD employees, contractors working at Pax River or Webster Field, and full-time employees of St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Join the Poms⁄Jazz class for 6-9 year olds Mondays (Feb. 4, 11, 25, March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31) from 4:45 - 5:30 p.m. at the Energy Zone. The price is $40 per child. Register in the ITT office by Friday. No class Feb. 18.

Art classes

Learn how to draw in the Japanese anime style. A new class for beginners and advanced students will be held Tuesdays, Feb. 5 and 12. Also, join the painting a landscape in watercolor mix on Tuesdays, Feb. 19 and 26. Classes are taught from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Customized Creations in Bldg. # 415 near the fire station. Table Tennis Tournament

Black History Landmark Tour

Join us as we celebrate Black History Month with an eight-hour guided bus tour of Black Landmarks of Baltimore Saturday, Feb. 16. Visit the NAACP, under ground railroad, escape tunnels, tributes to Harriett Tubman, Billie Holliday, and Frederick Douglass, oldest Black collegiate institution, and Blacks in Wax museum. 2008 Camping Reservation

The 2008 camping reservation dates for Navy Recreation Center (NRC) Solomons are: retired military reservations will be accepted Feb. 12 and processed on Feb. 19. Active and retired DoD reservations will be accepted on March 4 and processed on March 11. Active and reserve military reservations were accepted Jan. 15. The new 2008 guidebook has been published. Pick one up for more details and the 2008 reservation form.
