The 2008 Walter Reed Army Medical Center National Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for Feb. 6 at 6:30 a.m. in the WRAMC dining facility in Heaton Pavilion.
Dr. Stu Weber, senior pastor of Good Shepherd Community Church and author of several books, will be the guest speaker.
ìAll are welcome,î said Chaplain (Capt.) Darrick M. Gutting, of the Department of Ministry and Pastoral Care.
ìPeople can get their breakfast first, and then join us at the marked tables,î Gutting said.
ìCoupons for $2 off the price of [peopleís] meals will be available,î Gutting said. ìAlso, we will be giving out coupons for Dr. Weberís latest book entitled ìInfinite Impact.î
People can stop by the Department of Ministry and Pastoral Careí office on the Heaton Pavilion on the third floor beginning Monday to pick up the coupons for the breakfast and book.
In addition to being a pastor and author, Weber is a former Green Beret captain who earned three Bronze Stars with the 5th Special Forces Group while serving in Vietnam. His book ìSpirt Warriors: A Soldier Looks at Spiritual Warfare,î decribes lifeís spiritual battles from the view of a seasoned Soldier.
Weber is also a graduate of Wheaton College and has earned several advanced degrees from Western Seminary in Portland, Ore.
