Financial readiness

Army Community Service Financial Readiness Training is Wednesday (Budgeting and Debt Management) and Thursday (Understanding Mortgages) from 10 a.m. to noon in the Guest House (Bldg. 17), ACS training room. To register call 782-0454.

Check cashing reducation

Beginning today, the Walter Reed PX at Forest Glen will no longer cash checks up to the $300 limit. The PX will cash checks for $20 over the amount of purchase and $50 over the amount of purchase on a debit card. The store will continue to cash $300 checks for Service members in emergency situations.

According to the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), the Walter Reed PX will change from a main store to a branch specialty store, reducing the amount of available cash and limiting check cashing services.

Helper Monkeys

The Integrated Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation in conjunction with Helping Hands Monkey Helpers for the Disabled are sponsoring the presentation Helper Monkeys Tuesday from 3 to 4 p.m. in Heaton Pavilion’s Joel Auditori-um.

Hospital flower shop

The Walter Reed Hospital Flower Shop has an assortment of flower arrangements, balloons, gift baskets, cay and other gifts. The shop is prepared for Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14. Orders can be placed in person in the shop on the first floor of the Heaton Pavilion, or by phone at (202) 722-7855 or 7878.

OPM⁄WRAMC outreach

The OPM⁄WRAMC Veterans Outreach Liaison Office is in Delano Hall (Bldg. 11), Rm. G-11. The office provides servicemembers in transition information about employment opportunities with the federal government and more.
