During a civilian’s U.S. Magistrate Court mandatory appearance on Fort Detrick Jan. 15, the Provost Marshal Office was notified he was wanted for a probation violation in Washington County. After his court case, he was placed under arrest and taken to the PMO for processing. The civilian was then released to Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

A civilian passenger in a vehicle attempting to enter post Jan. 15 through the nondecaled search lane was found with a plastic bag and plastic capsule with marijuana in it. The PMO took the civilian into custody. An investigation continues.

A PMO officer arrived at a home in the post’s GMH housing to contact the owners of a loose dog found Jan. 15. When the officer arrived, he found the home’s door open and no sign of the residents. He and another officer conducted a health and welfare inspection and determined everything was in order. One of the officers tried to close the door, but it wouldn’t lock. The resident’s unit was notified, and the dog was taken to the Humane Society.

After receiving legal advice from his defense attorney Jan. 16, a Soldier confessed to the PMO that he was the operater of the vehicle involved in two accidents in Area B and fled the scene Oct. 5 and Nov. 9.

After telling a family member that she wasn’t feeling well, a Soldier fainted and fell to the floor in post housing Jan. 19. The PMO and Fort Detrick Fire Department responded, and the Soldier was sent to Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Minutes after Old Farm Gate opened Jan. 22, a tractor trailer driver tried pulling into the far right side inbound lane of the gate but was too big to make it through. People on the ground tried to guide the driver in backing up but their yells to stop were not heard and the driver hit a light pole at the gate. The pole was scratched and the frame was bent. The tractor trailer had no damages.
