INFOSEC Training Scheduled

The Missile Defense Agency⁄Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) is conducting its Second Annual Symposium on Information Security (INFOSEC) on Feb. 5 at Naval Support Facility Dahlgren from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Attendees will gain proven techniques and broad perspectives from presenters that include the National Security Agency, Defense Security Services, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Missile Defense Agency and Aegis BMD.

Every speaker at the INFOSEC Symposium is renowned for the topic they will address and have the experience, background, and ability to communicate skills and techniques you can use. Topics will include:

Operation Security (OPSEC)

  • Anti-Terrorism Level 1

  • Technology Transfer

  • Marking Classified Material

  • Controlled Unclassified Information

    Information Security

    Fundamentals

  • Espionage - The Brian Regan Story

  • CRYPTO Modernization through 2015

  • Counterintelligence Criteria

  • Encryption Development

    Lenten Dinners

    Lenten dinners will begin on Fri., Feb. 8 at the Chapel Annex at 5:30 p.m. Soups, bread and desserts will served. Meals are donation only, with all proceeds going to the Sacred Heart Chapel Relay For Life team.

    DOSC Accepting Applications for Scholarship

    The Dahlgren Officers’ Spouses’ Club is pleased to announce the application for the Rosemarie Blades Honorary Scholarship for 2008 is now available. The scholarship this year is divided into three categories:

  • High School Senior

  • Undergraduate Student

  • Spouse Undergraduate Student

    Eligible candidates must be the dependent child or spouse of an active duty, retired or deceased military member who has served a permanent change of duty station (PCS) in Dahlgren, VA. Further eligibility requirements and application procedures are included in the applications. The amounts awarded will depend on funds raised by DOC and determined by the members of DOSC.

    The Military Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (MVITA) program offers NO COST preparation of federal and state income tax forms and electronic filing for military personnel, their dependents and military retirees.     Energetic Toastmasters

    The Indian Head “Energetic“ Toastmasters Club 3173, a member of Toastmasters International, meets the first and third Wednesday of every month at 11:30. Visitors are always welcome.
