Command Newspaper

The Waterline is the authorized, unofficial publication of Naval District Washington. The Waterline is published weekly every Thursday, with a circulation of 10,000. It is a key medium in the Commandant’s internal information program, used to communicate mission essential information to Sailors, Marines, civilian employees and family members.

A typical issue of The Waterline may include the following elements: Commandant’s comments; regional news⁄features from the Washington Navy Yard, NSF Anacostia, and other Naval District Washington installations; Naval District Washington news briefs; sports; announcements; DOD news⁄features; and MWR news.
