Bolling Eateries

Bolling offers a variety of places to eat, depending on tastes and the time of day. Bolling's enlisted dining facility, Falcon’s Feast, serves four meals daily. Meals are served cafeteria style with a-la-carte pricing. The fast-food line caters to the “eat-and-run customer,“ while the full-service line is available for those who can dine at a more leisurely pace. Seating varies from booths to tables with candlelight and the glow of a fireplace. The dining facility is located in Building 1301 on Brookley Avenue.

The Bolling Clubs, Burger King, Potomac Lanes Bowling Center snack bar, Dunkin' Donuts, Pettini’s Family Restaurant, and the Slip Inn (adjacent to the base marina) offer a delicious variety for just about anyone's appetite.

The food court at the base exchange complex cooks up a variety of cuisines and features Anthony's Pizza, Charley's Steakery, Kathmandu Café, Robin Hood Sandwiches and Boardwalk Fries.

Travel

Manassas Travel provides a convenient way to arrange government travel when on official business. Located in Room 116B in Building 13 on Brookley Avenue, this office provides all the resources needed for official travel. The office is open Monday through Friday.

Community Development

Community development initiatives are best described by example. Typically, they are collaborative efforts between the 11th Services Division's community programs office and other base agencies and organizations. The primary example is the quarterly Bolling town hall meetings, chaired by the 11th Mission Support Group commander. All personnel who live and work on Bolling are invited and encouraged to attend this event to obtain informational briefings and raise issues and concerns with senior leaders. Another example is the weekly “E-Grams,“ which provide weekly informational updates specifically relevant to Bolling residents. The military family housing district mayors send the “E-Grams“ to base housing residents via e-mail. A third example is the “10-Mile-Per-Hour Campaign,“ sponsored by the 11th Security Forces Squadron, to raise awareness that children's lives depend on all community members adhering to the 10-mph speed limit in base housing.

Medical Services

The 11th Medical Group provides premier medical and dental care for enrolled beneficiaries in the National Capital Region. The Bolling Clinic is located on the first floor of Building 1300 and has a staff of providers specializing in family medicine and flight medicine. Services include well-baby appointments, pediatrics, women's health, optometry, family advocacy, substance abuse control programs, force health protection, immunizations, health promotions, public health, laboratory, radiology and pharmacy.

Other military medical facilities in the area include Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., the Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Md., the DeWitt Army Hospital at Fort Belvoir, Va., the 89th Medical Group’s Malcom Grow Medical Center at Andrews AFB, Md., the Fort McNair Health Clinic in Washington, D.C., and the Andrew Rader Army Health Clinic at Fort Myer, Va., and the medical facility at Quantico, Va.

Dental Services

The 11th Dental Squadron, located on the second floor of Building 1300, provides comprehensive dental care for active duty personnel assigned to Bolling and the Washington metropolitan area.

Dental sick call for urgent or acute care is on a walk-in basis. On holidays and after-duty hours, emergency care is available through the 89th Medical Group at Andrews AFB, Md.

Dental care for all non-active duty beneficiaries is extremely limited, therefore all non-active duty patients should select a civilian dentist to provide ongoing dental care. Active duty family members may participate in the TRICARE active duty family member dental plan, which now provides expanded benefits for comprehensive and specialty care by participating civilian dentists.

Child Development Center

Children, ages six weeks to 5 years, can receive full-time weekly care at one of two child development centers located on Bolling. Children go on the waiting list based on priority, request date and the child's age. Rooms for infants, pre-toddlers, toddlers, 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds are available as well as a part-day enrichment program for 3- and 4-year-olds. A certified kindergarten class is also available. In addition, there are licensed family day-care providers in base housing who can accommodate full-time care. The family childcare office is located in the Edward H. White Community Center on the second floor.

Mayoral Program

The mayoral program on Bolling is designed to enhance the culture, climate and quality of life of those families who reside on base. The program encourages voluntary neighborhood leadership and empowers proactive residents.

Additionally, the program provides military family housing residents with a distinctive opportunity to interact and share concerns with senior base leaders in an effort to increase overall responsiveness to residential needs.

It is through this program that community residents are provided with an opportunity to actively participate in the planning and implementation of a variety of community improvement and volunteer activities. Consequently, each district mayor represents the collective voice of their neighborhood's residents.

School Bus Transportation Program

Children residing on Bolling and in the adjacent Navy Bellevue housing community attend a variety of public schools as well as private schools in the local area. A specific informational guidebook and other associated literature on schools for those who reside on base can be obtained through the community programs office located in Building 4472 on Arnold Avenue. It is highly encouraged that you request your sponsor to include this information in your welcome package, if you're planning to live on base.

You may also e-mail a request to: communityprograms@bolling.air force.mil or call the office at (202) 404-7710 or DSN 754-7710, and a package will be sent to you. You will need to provide your name and grade, daytime phone number, mailing address, PCS date and the grades your children will be in upon arrival to Bolling.

Because there are literally thousands of public and private schools within the commuting radius of Bolling in the D.C. metropolitan area, the community programs office has specific information for only those schools that are in the base school bus transportation program.
