Do you have Churches on the installation?

The Army Chaplaincy exists to ensure the free exercise of religion for military members and their families. Fort Meade Ministry Teams are committed to this Constitutional right. We encourage your participation in the religious programs provided and invite you to inform us of any special needs you have. Our goal is to provide a quality and comprehensive program that meets the spiritual needs of the community. Your prayers, involvement and feedback are the key ingredients for success. Let us work together as a family of faith in bringing God’s blessings upon all worshipping Fort Meade congregations. Email: chaporg@emh1. ftmeade.army.mil

Chapel Activities

Chapel activities include religious services, pastoral counseling, religious education, Bible studies, youth groups, choirs and retreats. Services are regularly conducted for the major faith groups – Protestant, Catholic, Jewish and Muslim. Non-denominational services and activities are also held at various locations around post. A service schedule is published in the weekly newspaper, Soundoff! and broadcast on the TV98 bulletin board.

Family Life Ministry Center

The Family Life Ministry Center (FLMC) is a pastoral counseling center available to all branches of the military services, civilian employees and family members in the Fort Meade community. The counselors at the FLMC are educated and trained in current and recognized models of counseling to provide you dedicated and professional service. In addition, all the counselors are equipped to address issues of faith that an individual may wish to discuss. The goal of the FLMC is to offer professional and compassionate care to the whole person.

In addition, the FLMC will periodically offer workshops on parenting or marriage enrichment. Times and dates of these events can be found in the Soundoff!, TV98 or by calling the Family Life Ministry Center. The FLMC is located on the corner of 6th Cavalry and Mapes Road. Hours of operation are from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Counseling is by appointment. For more information, call (301) 677-3785 for assistance and⁄or information.

Prevention & Relationship Enhancement Program

The Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program (PREP) is offered at the Family Life Ministry Center at Mapes and 6th Cavalry Road. PREP is a two or three-day marriage workshop designed to help couples communicate effectively. It shows couples how to resolve conflicts in such a way that it enhances the relationship. PREP is not counseling. It reduces the divorce rate by 25 percent and enhances marital satisfaction by 90 percent, according to the Family Life Ministry Center. This program is for all couples and both partners must attend. Civilian attire is recommended. For information or to register, call (301) 677-0306.
