As cooler temperatures set in, Prince Georgeís police are collecting coats for those in need throughout the community.
The department is partnering with the One Warm Coat organization and asking residents to donate clean, gently used coats and jackets.
One Warm Coat is a national nonprofit that supports coat drives and helps groups and organizations collect coats and deliver them to people in need.
Collection boxes have been set up at locations throughout the county in addition to being at each of the six county police district stations.
For a full list of collection sites, visit www.onewarmcoat.org.
For more information, residents are encouraged to call the county police departmentís community services division at 301-909-7126.
During last yearís efforts, the department helped collect more than 1,500 coats, according to police.
