Fort Detrick says goodbye to a wonderful Soldier
Sgt. David Williams died Aug. 18 near Kandahar, Afghanistan at the age of 24. He was a decorated and deeply-respected soldier serving since August 2008 and deployed on his first overseas combat deployment since April 2012. A 2006 graduate of Urbana High School in Urbana, Maryland, he is remembered fondly for his 2005 Senior Project, "Honoring Our Country's Heroes" and by family & friends for his gentle sincerity and warm compassion.
