Patient Safety Awareness

Patient Safety Awareness will be discussed during a Lunch and Learn Session Wednesday in Building 10's Laurel Clark Memorial Auditorium from noon to 1 p.m. Carmen C. Birk, risk manager of the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), Department of the Navy, a registered nurse and microbiologist, will address Health and Human Services Partnership for Patients. Dr. Chin Hee Kim, of Walter Reed Bethesda's General Internal Medicine Department, will discuss decreasing hospital readmission rates. Victor Mosley, a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and leader of the multidisciplinary team at Walter Reed Bethesda will discuss focusing on decreasing hospital acquired conditions at the event. Women's Equality Day

A Women's Equality Day program is scheduled for Aug. 23 at 11:30 a.m. in the America Building atrium. The Army band Downrange will perform, and there will also be food provided at no cost at the event. Alcoholics Anonymous Meeting
