A popular summertime feature of Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall is returning later this month and in July and August.
“Dive and a Movie”, the combination swim outing and cinema experience, is scheduled for June 16, July 28 and Aug. 18. Admission is free to all with valid identification cards.
“This will be the third year for Dive and A Movie here at JBMHH,” said Directorate of Family Morale, Welfare and Recreation sports specialist Todd Hopkins. “Food will not be available for purchase, but folks may bring their own food and drink — as long as they do not use glass containers.”
The movie and swim are scheduled to take place at the Fort Myer Officers Club 50-yard pool. Gates will open at 8 p.m., and the movie will begin at 9 p.m. Those attending the movies must provide their own floatation devices.
A trio of Family-favorite films are scheduled to be shown during the Dive and a Movie events. For the June 16 opening night, “Puss in Boots” is the feature. On Saturday, July 28, “The Muppets” will be shown. The July 28 showing is a partnership with the USO’s “Movie on the Lawn — Water Edition” series.
The scheduled Saturday, Aug. 18 film is “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.”
In case of severe or inclement weather, the swim and movie will be cancelled. For more information on Dive and a Movie or to obtain the event’s status due to weather, call 703-939-1045, 703-522-5932 or 703-939-1045.
