Andrews top leaders bid farewell

Col. Ken Rizer, 11th Wing/Joint Base Andrews commander, speaks about how proud he is to have been Team Andrews' commander for the last two years at the Base Theater June 5. During his speech, Rizer compared Team Andrews members to the legendary 1980 American Olympic hockey team that inspired the movie "Miracle on Ice." Calling the game in which the U.S. team defeated the Soviet team (previously unbeaten since 1954) "the greatest sports moment in history," Rizer said he was proud to be the "coach" to the men and women of the 11th Wing as they achieved similar victories as they passed important inspections and hosted the DOD's largest air show, among myriad other accomplishments.
