JBAB Girl Scouts

Calling all Girls! JBAB Girl Scouts is currently preparing for the 2012- 2013 school year. Girls registered in Kindergarten - 12th grade this fall and interested in joining should contact JBABgirlscoutsyahoo.com. The troop meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at the community center on Chappie James Blvd at 6 p.m. Girl Scouts; building girls with confidence, character and courage for 100 years.

Track closed for construction

The base track is now closed for a construction project. For your safety, do not interfere with construction by disregarding fencing and posted signs. The new PT test route is at the end of Duncan Ave. near Stewart Theater until further notice. Drivers please use caution while using this portion of the road during testing.

Boys and Girls Club volunteer opportunity

Toastmasters Club seeks new members

The Bolling Toastmasters Club meets every Wednesday from 12:15-1:15 p.m. at the JBAB Chapel Center. Participants can learn to hone their communication and leadership skills. Sky Vacation Bible School

The JBAB Chapel will begin registration June 17 after each worship service for "Sky" Vacation Bible School. Registration cards may also be completed through the week at the Chapel Center during normal duty hours. "Sky" will be held July 9 - 13, 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. at the JBAB Chapel Center. Children ages 4 - 12 are invited to attend and will enjoy Bible adventures, crafts, snacks and more at this free event. For more information contact the JBAB Chapel at 202-767-5900.

Wick Drive to undergo construction

Wick Drive on JBAB's north side will be closed for construction June 4-15 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday. It will be open during non-peak hours and on weekends. For more information, call 202-767-8640.

Building 357 parking garage closure

The parking garage at Building 357 will undergo construction throughout the summer months. Both levels will be closed June 4-12; and only the second level will be closed June 12 through mid-August. For more information, call 202-767-0508.

Volunteers needed for Navy-Air Force Half Marathon

Volunteers are needed for the Navy-Air Force Half Marathon Sept. 15 for the Expo, Packet Pick-up and Pasta Party at the JBAB Club, and on race day Sept. 16 on the grounds of the Washington Monument in D.C. All volunteers will receive a volunteer shirt, commemorative coin, and a certificate of appreciation signed by the JBAB commander. Battle of Midway Commemoration

Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling will hold a Battle of Midway Commemoration at the Bolling Officers Club, June 5, at 11 a.m. A guest speaker, video commemorating the battle and light refreshments will be available. JBAB leadership highly encourages attendance.
