Armed Forces Week Results

The week of May 14, Fort Detrick hosted numerous activities celebrating Armed Forces week. Among activities were a Guidon competition, swimming, racquetball, two mile run, basketball and a home run derby.

The winner of the Formal Guidon was Sgt. Harris from WRAIR. Harris received an Army Achievement Medal, a formal plaque and a gift bag.

Maj. Gable from 21st Signal Brigade won the 100 meter swimming event. Gable also won the racquetball tournament.

Spc. Garcia from 6th MLMC won the two mile run in the women's category.

Capt. Thomson from USAMRIID won the two mile run in the men's category.Thomson also won the Home Run Derby.

Editor's note: There were a large number of soldiers that won events in many different categories. Due to limited space, we are unable to list all of them. Congratulations to all the soldiers that won in their categories, you have showed tremendous athleticism and enthusiasm for Fort Detrick.
