Sodexo Government Services has signed a five-year corporate sponsorship agreement to help fund Marine Corps Community Services youth sports programs. The agreement includes $66,000 during the first year that will be used to fund programs at installations across the Corps.
Sodexo originated their sponsorship of MCCS youth sports in 2009 and has been involved with the Marine Corps Marathon’s Healthy Kids Fun Run since 2004.
According to Tommy Cureton, Installation and Youth Sports program manager at Headquarters Marine Corps, “Sodexo, along with several other valued sponsors, continues to provide assistance to MCCS programs which allow us to enrich the lives of those we serve.”
MCCS Youth Sports programs provide quality year-round activities to meet the needs and interests of children ages 6 – 18 years. Programs such as baseball, basketball, football, golf, soccer and tennis are offered appropriate to age levels. These programs help youth and teens achieve and maintain fitness, acquire a broad range of physical skills, develop a sense of teamwork, cooperation and fairness that lead to healthy, active lifestyles.
“Corporate support, from companies such as Sodexo, who sponsored this contest, enhances MCCS events and directly contributes to Marines, Sailors and their Families’ quality of life,” said Nancy Pasternack, MCCS Corporate Sponsorship program manager. “We invite corporate America to be partners with MCCS through the Commercial Sponsorship Program. This program enables companies to reach the military market, while helping MCCS enhance quality of life and leisure-time activities for our Marines, Sailors, and their Families.”
