The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors is seeking active duty and recently retired or veteran servicemembers in the Washington D.C., area to volunteer for this year’s Good Grief Camp. TAPS is a nonprofit organization that provides immediate and long-term support and care to the Families of our nation’s fallen heroes. The 18th annual Good Grief Camp is unique, in that servicemembers provide one-on-one mentoring to the children of deceased servicemembers.

The organization is expecting 475 children at the camp over Memorial Day weekend. The children range in age from 4 to 19 years old, and volunteers may choose which age group they prefered.

The training and majority of activities will be held at the Marriott in Crystal City, Va.

For more information, or to volunteer, log onto www.taps.org/national.aspx?id=6408. You can also email mentors@taps.org or call 1-800-959-8277. Registration to become a mentor is open until May 17.
