On March 29, Andrews Fire Emergency Services received a 911 call for a fire in privatized base housing. Upon arrival, Andrews Fire Emergency Services discovered the second story of two adjoining townhomes fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters performed an aggressive interior attack to ensure all occupants were evacuated. In the midst of fighting the housing fire, a secondary gas line fire was identified. A team of firefighters expertly isolated that fire and contained the spread until utility crews were able to turn off the gas main. Their efforts resulted in the avoidance of a total potential loss of $705K in housing.
